The Celeb factor sees Cotswold hotels in demand
Hotel prices have seen a big rise across the Cotswolds thanks to the number of celebrities and high-profile people with homes in the area.
Hotels.com said the greatest rise was in David Cameron's constituency of Witney where the average room rate for a one-night stay rose 31% on the 2010 figure.
Other popular areas in the Cotswolds seeing big rises were Broadway with a 21% increase, 16% in Chipping Norton and 12% in Cheltenham.
Broadway, at £132, had the most expensive hotels in England last year
Interest in the 'Chipping Norton set', including Mr Cameron, Jeremy Clarkson and rock-star cheesemaker Alex James, high-profile media events, such as the weddings of Kate Moss and Lily Allen, as well as the filming of TV series Downton Abbey helped fuel the rises.
Hotels.com chief marketing officer Nigel Pocklington said: "With its beautiful scenery and high-end hotels, the Cotswolds is always popular but we also believe there has been heightened interest in the area as a result of its celebrity residents."
